Position Summary:Under the direction of the Radiology Administrator and Clinical Director, the Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic and screening mammograms in our flagship Family Health Center; El Nuevo San Juan. Minimum Qualifications:ARRT Mammography Certification. NYS DOH Radiology Technician License Knowledge of Digital 3-D and Quality Control highly desired. Completion of 2 years from Accredited School of Radiologic Technology. 1-2 years of related experience. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. Key Duties:Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort. Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation. Prepares and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail. Performs quality control functions related to mammography. Assists in compilation and maintenance of statistical data. Follow infection control and safety guidelines. Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique. Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team. Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence. Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
