Position Summary:Working in our Plaza del Sol Community Health Center in Corona, Queens, we are seeking a dedicated Radio Tech (X-Ray/Mammo) to join our team. Plaza del Sol is an outpatient health center dedicated to providing our community and families with comprehensive and quality primary care, diagnostics, and specialty health care.
Produces radiographs within scope of services.
Setups up and operated radiographic and magnetic imaging equipment used in medical diagnosis and/or in treatment of patients.
Prepares room and briefs patient on nature of procedure.
Provides positioning and immobilization devices as needed.
Selects and operates equipment according to exam protocols. Provides radiation protection according to safety standards.
Complete patient education regarding the exam, promote patient privacy and comfort.
Perform diagnostic or screening mammography as ordered. Completes appropriate documentation.
Prepares and assists the Radiologist in the completion of intricate mammography examinations
Produce high quality films for the radiologist to evaluation, pays attention to detail.
Performs quality control functions related to mammography.
Assists in compilation and maintenance of statistical data.
Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
Maintain a high degree of accuracy in mammography positioning and exposure technique.
Serves as primary liaison between patients, Radiologists and other members of the support team.
Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence.
Perform all duties using proper body mechanics, including manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
Minimum Qualifications:Certificate from accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Knowledge of electronic health records and managing patient data.
*Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired.
Compensation: $88,000 per annum plus benefits.
