Position Summary:We are currently hiring Nationally Certified Medical Assistant / Phlebotomy Technicians (Bilingual Spanish/English) for our School Based Health Care Centers based out of elementary ,middle and high schools. Health Care Services Representatives, or 'HCSR II"s', are Nationally Certified Phlebotomists that possess a Medical Assistant Certificate.Minimum Qualifications:Certification as a Medical Assistant AND National Certification as Phlebotomy Technician required OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), required.
Candidates with previous experience in a health care or school based setting strongly preferred.
Previous experience working with children and adolescents, a strong plus.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bilingual Spanish/English required.
Knowledge of taking vital signs, phlebotomy, and medical administration tasks.
Key Duties:Process blood draws; Collects specimens for laboratory testing.
Prepare examination rooms and equipment.
Participates in health and wellness activities and health education when required.
Obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medical history and accurately records in medical records.
Completes referrals and discharges patients.
Assists providers and nurses during all aspects of exams.
Assist provider during visit with treatments, examinations, and procedures.
Schedules appointments, verifies insurance and demographic information.
Processes diagnostic orders.
Starting Compensation: Minimum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually); Maximum: $21.00/hour ($43,680 annually) + Additional $1,500 in differential pay.

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:The HCSR-II's will work onsite within our Queens based School based health center located at: Elmhurst Educational Campus
45-10 94th Street , Elmhurst, NY 11373This position will require a schedule of Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Training for first 1-2 weeks will take place in the Bronx.
